Well after the visit to the hospital for Dylans OK to fligh we headed along Kao San Road and picked up a few goodies, the clothes here are so cheap. We can just about fit them in the ever growing rucksack but once at Aus a lot of stuff is being abandoned!

We then went for our final Thai meal of fried rice for Dylan and Hot and Sour soup for myself, yummy. After that it was off to the Asia Hotel to watch Calypso the Lady Boy Cabarete. This was just what we expected, glitsey, fun and as camp as Xmas. Some of them are quite obviously men but with some it is very hard to spot, as soon as we are in Aus the pictures will be up and you can tell for yourself! There wasn’t any singing as such it was all miming to the greats like “All that Jazz”, Shirley Bassey and the extremely appropriate “I am what I am” where as well as the usual miming and dancing they got there boobs out at the end!! I did try to take a photo for all interested but not sure if it came out, we’ll all have to wait and see!! After the show you could have your photo taken with the “girls”, Dylan couldn’t wait and was straight over there, he has some great pics with quite a few.

We then took our first and last tuk tuk in Bangkok, as mentioned in a previous posts we had been warned away from them but Dylan new what he was doing and thought we got a bargin, it was only when we were riding back to our place that he remembered that the taxi was half the price, not such a bargin but good fun all the same. We then went for one last beer at the Shamrock, our “local” haunt, where I had a sudden urge for the loo, as in England there was a long queue for the loos but people only seemed to be coming out of one of the 2 toilets. Myself and another English girl waiting then noticed the head of quite a tall man over the top of the first toilet and waited to see who would come out. We weren’t dissapointed, a white guy came out apologising for the wait and just as he was about to leave he called back into the toilet “it’s alright you can come out”, at which point a young Thai lady sheepishly followed. We came to the conclusion that it was just like one of the traditions in England, girls always going to the toilet in pairs, except here “sex” was of no consiquence, you can “pair up” with any old mate!!!!!

It was then back to the hotel and after Dylan cleaned up his last couple of wounds an early night was had.

Morning now,all packed up and ready for our flight to Aus. South East Asia is another place we have loved and want to come back to. We will obviously be coming back to check on the kids but there is so much we didn’t get to do, due to a certain persons injuries and also time constraints. The people have been great, fellow travellers and the locals alike, and we have both agreeded that the South East Asian adventure isn’t even half done yet. The only thing I wont miss are the mosquitoes, I counted over 140 bites on my lower legs and feet yesterday, thank god for Tiger Balm!!!!!

So long South East Asia, don’t think you have heard the last from us!!
